| Reverse description | The reverse displays an elaborate heraldic composition centered on a circular inner ring bearing the ducal motto ALLES MIT BEDACHT (All with deliberation) surrounding a crowned ducal arms device with the Order of the Garter insignia. Arranged concentrically around this central medallion are twelve crowned heraldic shields representing the various territorial claims and dignities of the House of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, linked by elaborate foliate and acanthus scrollwork. The date 1666 appears at the top of the coin in the outer field, flanked by the mintmaster's initials H–S at the base. The legend ALLES MIT BEDACHT AETAT LXXXVIII NATA encircles the composition, recording the duke's age of 88 years. |
