Obverse description Three-quarter standing figure of Duke Christian, Bishop of Minden, facing three-quarters to the right, clad in full armour with elaborately decorated breastplate; his left hand rests upon the hilt of his sword, while his right hand holds a marshal's staff or baton. A crested helmet rests upon a table to his right. The surrounding legend identifies the ruler by his titles and territorial dignities.

Reverse description A large five-crested, nine-field heraldic achievement of arms occupies the central field, with the shield of Minden prominently displayed at its centre. The composition is flanked on either side by an upright lion serving as a heraldic shield-bearer.
