| Obverse description | Central device comprises the quartered heraldic shield of Grand Master Ramon Perellos y Roccaful, combining the arms of the Order of St. John with the personal arms of the Perellos family, featuring teardrops arranged in the quarters. The shield is surmounted by a princely crown and flanked by decorative laurel branches. The date 1697 is divided across the lower field on either side of the shield. The circumferential Latin legend reads F.D. RAMVN. PERELLOS. ET. ROCCAFVL. M.M.H.H., referring to the Grand Master, and is separated by small ornamental stops. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
