Obverse description A pyx (eucharistic tabernacle vessel) depicted in the center of the field, shown in full elevation with a domed, cross-surmounted lid and a chalice-form base with decorative moldings, rendered in a simple but recognizable devotional style characteristic of siege emergency coinage. The sacred vessel, associated with the Holy Blood relic of Mantua, serves as the primary device. A partial Latin legend surrounds the design along the inner border, reading TABER SANG CHRIS (an abbreviation of Tabernaculum Sanguinis Christi, referring to the Tabernacle of the Blood of Christ). The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a beaded inner border visible on portions of the edge.
