Reverse description The denomination is prominently displayed in two lines at the centre of the field: the numeral '4' above 'SKILLING', with the abbreviation 'R: M:' (Rigsmont) below. The entire central device is encircled by a wreath formed of two crossed oak branches, their lobed leaves and acorns rendered in fine relief, tied at the base with a decorative ribbon bow. The flat, unadorned field and the bold, rectilinear lettering are characteristic of the restrained neoclassical style of Danish billon coinage of this period. The coin's reeded edge is visible in profile, consistent with milled production at the Royal Danish Mint.
