| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays a bilingual religious inscription across the field, reading IUSTUS in Latin at the top, followed by the Hebrew Tetragrammaton יהוה in large characters at the centre, and IUDEX in Latin below, collectively translating as 'God is a righteous judge' (Psalm 7:12). The date appears at the bottom of the field, divided by the mint mark. Dot stops punctuate the Latin words, and a beaded border runs along the coin's periphery. This distinctive use of Hebrew script on a European circulation coin is exceptional and reflects the scholarly and theological interests prevalent at the Danish court of Christian IV. |
