Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Grand Duke Georg of Mecklenburg-Strelitz facing right, with naturalistically rendered curly hair and a plain truncation, set within a beaded inner border. The circumferential legend reads GEORG V. G. G. GROSSHERZOG V. MECKLENB. STR., disposed around the portrait in Latin script. The effigy is rendered in a classical early-nineteenth-century style with fine relief detail on the facial features and hair.
