Obverse description Armored equestrian effigy of King Christian IV facing right, depicted in full armor with helmet, the horse shown in a prancing pose with flowing tail. The denomination mark '4 S L' (four Schilling) appears in the lower field beneath the horse. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of Danish duchy coinage of the mid-seventeenth century.
