| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse of this cob host coin displays the characteristic Spanish colonial crowned shield design, with the quartered arms of Castile and León visible in relief at center, flanked by the pillars of Hercules motif partially struck on the irregular flan. The cross potent is prominently rendered in the field, consistent with macuquina coinage of the Potosí, Mexico City, or Guatemala mints. The flan edges are jagged and irregular, typical of hand-cut silver planchets used in cob coinage production, with some surface porosity and wear from circulation prior to countermarking. |
