Obverse description Irregular cob flan struck in the hammered tradition, displaying the Guatemalan Type I countermark applied at center: a circular punch enclosing a quetzal bird in profile, set within a radiate or sun-ray surround. The host coin's original cross and castle design elements are partially visible in the field, characteristic of Spanish colonial macuquina coinage. The surface shows the typical rough, uneven texture inherent to cob production, with natural flan irregularities and clipping evident at the edges.
