| Reverse description | A laureate draped bust facing right occupies the central field within a beaded inner circle, rendered in a somewhat primitive provincial style characteristic of the Tegucigalpa mint. The peripheral legend LIBRE CREZCA FECUNDO is disposed around the upper arc, with the denomination 4 • R •, mint initial T, date 1857, and assayer initial F distributed along the lower arc and separated by raised dot stops. The date 1857 is prominently displayed at the base of the legend between two pellets, and known over-date (1857/2) and over-initial (F/G) varieties exist for this issue. |
