| Obverse description | Central device features the radiant Sun of May (Sol de Mayo), depicted as a stylized solar disk with an anthropomorphic face set within a circle, from which alternate straight and wavy rays emanate to fill the field. The sun face displays schematically rendered eyes, nose, and mouth in a frontal aspect. A circular legend in raised Latin letters reads PROVINCIAS DEL RIO DE LA PLATA around the periphery, separated from the rim by a continuous beaded border. A small rosette ornament appears at the base of the legend below the sun device. |
