| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on cream paper with a fine guilloche underprint. The upper register bears the bank title EL BANCO ARGENTINO in bold letterpress, with the numeral 4 in each upper corner and the series letter and serial number flanking a central vignette of a reclining dog beside a safe. Two allegorical female figures in classical dress occupy the left and right lateral vignettes. The place of issue Paraná and the manuscript date 1 de Julio de 1873 appear in the central field, above the bold denomination inscription CUATRO REALES and the promise-to-pay text. A repeated micro-text border reading CUATRO runs along the bottom edge. |
