Córdoba's 1852 pattern issues emerged from the chaotic final years of the Argentine Confederation, when individual provinces still exercised de facto monetary authority despite ongoing pressure toward national unification. This piece was never adopted for circulation — the provincial coinage experiment in Córdoba collapsed before any regular copper series could be established, making survivors almost exclusively cabinet pieces rather than anything that passed through trade hands.
