Reverse description Crowned quartered shield of Castile and León at center, displaying alternating castles and lions in the four quarters with a small escutcheon at the fess point, surmounted by a royal crown. The denomination numeral 4 appears to the right of the shield and the mint mark V with assayer initials SG. to the lower right, while R appears to the left. The circular legend HISPANIARUM.REX. runs along the periphery, interrupted by the mint and assayer marks flanking the shield.
