Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in the armored portrait style inherited from the Carlos IV dies, occupying the central field. The king's hair is tied with a ribbon and adorned with a laurel wreath, his truncation showing a military mantle with decorative bow. The circular legend FERDIND • VII • DEI • GRATIA • runs from lower left to upper right around the periphery, with the mint date 1808 positioned in the exergual area at the base of the bust. The entire design is enclosed within a fine milled border.
