Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold cross of Jerusalem, dividing the flan into four quarters, each alternately bearing a rampant lion passant and a triple-towered castle, the traditional heraldic emblems of León and Castile. The cross is rendered in the characteristic cob (macuquina) style, with squared terminals. A partial Latin legend encircles the design, reading FERDND VI D G HISPAN ET IND REX, though strike weakness and the irregular flan typical of hammered coinage cause portions of the legend to be partially visible or off-flan.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering FERDND • VI • D • G • HISPAN ET IND • REX
