The surrounding legend reads FERD·VI·D·G·HISPAN· (Ferdinand VI, by the Grace of God, King of Spain), with small stars at the base of the bust. The portrait is rendered in a baroque style typical of Spanish colonial proclamation coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. A suspension hole is noted at the top, indicating later use as a jewel or pendant. |
