To the left, a vignette of a rhea (ñandú) standing in a natural landscape serves as the primary pictorial element. At centre, the promise-to-pay text reads 'Pagará a la vista al portador / CUATRO REALES PLATA / CORRIENTE BOLIVIANA / en monedas corrientes en esta Provincia.' | Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is printed in grey-black ink and composed entirely of lathe-work guilloche ornament, with four large oval cartouches at each corner each containing the bold numeral '4' with a cross-like serif. A central circular guilloche rosette forms the focal point, surrounded by an annular legend reading 'BANCO DE SAN JUAN'. Between the corner ovals, the denomination is rendered in three separate horizontal bands reading 'CUATRO', 'REALES', and in partial side panels 'CUATRO REALES', producing a dense, all-over geometric security design. The printer's imprint is faintly visible at the lower margin. |
