Two incuse circular coin illustrations are depicted in the lower portion of the field, the left bearing the denomination '5' with the legend 'CINCO ESCUDOS CONVERTIVEL' and the right bearing the denomination '1 REAL' with 'BANCO DE CABINDA', illustrating the monetary conversion rate from Escudo to Real. The arms of Cabinda, consisting of a shield with crossed symbols and the initials 'B C', appear in the exergue beneath the two coin illustrations. |

Cabinda is an Angolan exclave — geographically separated from Angola proper by a strip of the Democratic Republic of Congo — and has maintained a low-level separatist insurgency since the 1970s. The Frente para a Libertação do Enclave de Cabinda has periodically issued fantasy currency as a sovereignty assertion rather than a functional monetary instrument. These pieces never circulated and were not recognized by any government or central banking authority.
The X# prefix in standard references denotes an unofficial or fantasy issue.
