Additional information

Cabinda is an Angolan exclave — geographically separated from Angola proper by a strip of the Democratic Republic of Congo — and has maintained a low-level separatist insurgency since the 1970s. The Frente para a Libertação do Enclave de Cabinda has periodically issued fantasy currency as a sovereignty assertion rather than a functional monetary instrument. These pieces never circulated and were not recognized by any government or central banking authority.

The X# prefix in standard references denotes an unofficial or fantasy issue.
