Obverse description Large interlaced royal cypher 'FR' (Fridericus Rex) in elaborate cursive script, surmounted by a Prussian royal crown with prominent arches and cross finial, occupying the entire field. The monogram is rendered in an ornate calligraphic style with sweeping flourishes and no touching lines between the intertwined letters. The coin exhibits a milled or reeded rim surrounding the plain field.

Reverse description The denomination expressed in Roman numerals 'IIII' at the top of the field, flanked by two small rosette or flower ornaments. A period follows 'PFEN' and small decorative stops punctuate the composition, all within a milled rim.
