Obverse description Crowned interlaced cypher of Bishop Frederick Christian of Münster centrally placed in the field, flanked on either side by upward-curving palm branches forming a wreath. The princely crown above the monogram is rendered in fine detail with arched bands and decorative ornamentation. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the flan with the monogram as the sole device.

Reverse description Large Roman numeral denomination IIII displayed prominently above the inscription PFEN and the date 1703, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding outer legend reads SHEID.MUNTZ.*FURSTL.MUNSTER, identifying this as Scheidemünze (subsidiary coinage) of the Prince-Bishopric of Münster. The layout is bold and utilitarian, characteristic of small-denomination copper coinage of the early eighteenth century.
