| Obverse description | Central crowned oval cartouche bearing an eight-fold quartered coat of arms with the inescutcheon of the Wolff-Metternich family, the entire shield superimposed upon crossed sword and episcopal crozier in saltire. The surrounding legend, rendered in Latin, identifies the issuing bishop. The heraldic composition is executed in the baroque style characteristic of German ecclesiastical coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
