Reverse description Central device consists of a stylized city gate or portcullis motif rendered as a domed arch enclosing vertical bars, representing the heraldic gate of Warendorf, occupying the majority of the field. The gate design is enclosed within an elaborate border of interlaced foliate and scroll ornaments forming a continuous decorative band around the entire reverse. The date 1690 is inscribed in large numerals below the gate, integrated into the ornamental surround. No additional legend appears on the reverse, the denomination being implied by context.
