| Reverse description | The Guatemalan coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a shield flanked by branches and surmounted by a quetzal bird, with the denomination 4 P. divided by the shield. A circular legend arches across the top of the design reading GUATÆ RA S.D.O.M. PROTNE, invoking divine protection over the republic. The lower portion of the reverse bears the fineness designation 21Q, the mint date, and the assayer's initial R, all arranged along the base within the toothed border. The overall composition reflects the neoclassical engraving style characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century Central American gold coinage. |
