Obverse description A nude Aboriginal male figure advances to the right in a dynamic striding pose, one arm raised holding a boomerang aloft and the other extended, set against a plain field with native flora at his feet. The figure is rendered in fine relief with naturalistic detail, evoking ethnographic imagery characteristic of mid-19th century colonial token engraving. The legend HOGARTH ERICHSEN arcs around the upper periphery within a beaded border, with the date 1860 inscribed in the lower exergue. The overall composition is contained within a raised rim with a fine inner beaded circle.
