Obverse description Square klippe flan oriented as a lozenge, with a plain inner border formed by the cut edges of the planchet. At center, the crowned royal cypher 'ER' (Ericus Rex) is displayed prominently, surmounted by a royal crown in relief. The denomination numeral '4' appears to the left of the cypher, and the abbreviated value inscription 'OR' (öre) to the right, all rendered in bold hammered relief. The field surrounding the central device is flat and largely plain, consistent with the utilitarian character of emergency klippe coinage. The overall style reflects the simplified engraving typical of mid-sixteenth-century Swedish billon issues.
