| Reverse description | Central field features the kanji character 改 (meaning 'revised' or 'reformed') rendered in bold seal script (tensho) style within a raised circular cartouche impressed into the silver flan. The character fills the cartouche with commanding presence, its angular, archaic brushwork strokes clearly legible against the slightly recessed inner field. The broader reverse surface exhibits an unrefined, porous texture consistent with the hand-cast production methods employed by the Kubota Domain mint during the late Edo period. |
