Obverse description Cast iron coin with a central square hole, around which four Chinese characters are arranged in the traditional reading order: 寛 (top), 通 (right), 寶 (left), and 永 (bottom), together forming the reign-era currency inscription 'Kan'eitsūhō' (Kan'ei Circulating Treasure). The characters are rendered in a bold, slightly archaic clerical script style typical of Edo-period cast coinage, set within a plain raised rim. The field displays the characteristic rough texture of an iron cast planchet.
