| Obverse description | Round cast coin with a central square hole. Four Chinese characters are arranged in cruciform order around the central perforation, reading clockwise from top: 寛 (Kan), 通 (tsū), 永 (ei), 寶 (hō), forming the legend 寛永通寶 (Kan'ei Tsūhō), meaning 'Kan'ei currency.' The characters are rendered in bold relief within a broad, plain field, enclosed by a raised outer rim. The coin displays typical Edo-period casting style with well-defined strokes. |

| Reverse description | Round cast coin with a central square hole. The field is dominated by eleven bold raised wave lines radiating diagonally from the lower portion of the coin, arranged symmetrically on both sides and converging toward the square perforation. Above the central hole, the single Chinese character 山 (Yama, meaning 'mountain') is cast in raised relief, serving as a mint or workshop identification mark. The lower portion of the field features two concentric arched lines suggesting a stylized wave or horizon motif. The design is enclosed by a raised outer rim, consistent with Edo-period bosen (wave coin) casting practice. |
