Reverse description The reverse features eleven stylized wave motifs (波紋, hamon) radiating outward from the central square hole toward the rim, cast in bold relief. The waves are arranged symmetrically around the perforation, each rendered as a segmented, fan-shaped arc, creating a dynamic and decorative composition characteristic of the Bunkyū Eiho 4 Mon series. A raised inner rim borders the central square hole, and a plain outer rim encircles the entire design. The crisp, well-defined casting of the wave pattern is consistent with the high production standards expected of a copper mother coin (母銭, bosen). No legends or inscriptions appear on this face.
