The royal bust is encircled by a double-line inner border bearing two concentric lines of Latin legend. Within the inner border, above the king's crowned head, appears the radiant Tetragrammaton (יהוה) in Hebrew characters, invoking divine authority. The composition reflects the baroque ceremonial portraiture characteristic of early seventeenth-century Swedish coinage. The lettering is arranged in two registers: the inner legend identifies the ruler and his titles, while the outer legend bears a religious invocation. |
