| Obverse description | Central field displays a large crowned royal cypher of Frederik III, featuring a distinctive curly leg to the F, enclosed within a beaded or wire circle. The interlaced monogram is surmounted by an ornate crown. Surrounding the inner circle, a Latin legend carries the king's personal motto, reading clockwise from the right of the crown. The mintmark, when present, appears at the centre of the motto legend. |
