The mintmaster's initials 'G' and 'K' appear flanking the lower portion of the shield, identifying the Copenhagen mint official. The circumferential legend, divided by small floral stops, reads * IIII * MARCK * | * DANSKE * with the date 1672 incorporated into the legend, denoting the denomination and origin. The design is executed in the Baroque style characteristic of late seventeenth-century Danish coinage, with fine detail in the heraldic elements. |
