| Obverse description | Central device comprising the elaborately interlaced royal cipher of Christian V — the letter C repeated and mirrored, intertwined to form a decorative monogram — surmounted by a large royal crown with cross finial and jewelled band. The numeral 5 appears to the left of the cipher, denoting the regnal number of the king. The field is unadorned, and the coin is bordered by a fine milled edge. No legend is present on this face; the design relies entirely on the crowned monogram as a bold statement of royal authority. |
