| Obverse description | Central field displays a turreted castle of Castile enclosed within an ornate baroque cartouche with foliate flourishes at the corners. The castle is rendered in fine detail with three towers, an arched gateway, and battlements. The circumferential legend PHILIP · V · D · G · HISPAN · REX reads around the periphery, separated by rosette stops, within a milled border. Below the cartouche, the denomination and mint mark appear as 4 · M · M, indicating four maravedis struck at the Madrid mint. |
