| Popis rubu | Central field displays a rampant lion passant-guardant facing left, depicted in the heraldic style characteristic of Spanish colonial copper coinage of the reign of Joanna and Charles I. The lion is boldly rendered in high relief against a flat, heavily patinated field. The flan is irregular with clipped edges and pronounced surface corrosion, typical of hammered emergency issues. A partial circular legend in Latin is visible along the periphery, largely obscured by wear. The overall style is consistent with Santo Domingo mint production of the mid-sixteenth century. |
