| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse of the host coin retains vestiges of the original castle-and-lion quartered royal arms of Castile and León, heavily worn and partially obscured by the countermarking process. A crowned royal cipher or shield device is discernible at center, consistent with the Felipe IV cob-style copper coinage type. The date countermark, indicating the year of revalidation (1651 or 1652), appears struck in the field alongside remnants of mint mark and assayer initial from the originating establishment. The overall surface is heavily patinated with green and brown corrosion typical of circulated 17th-century Spanish copper vellón coinage. |
