Reverse description A floriated cross with ornate scrollwork arms divides the field into four quarters, each occupied alternately by the castle of Castile and the lion of León; a central oval escutcheon bears the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty. The entire composition is encircled by a continuous wreath of laurel and oak branches tied with a ribbon at the base, with a fine beaded border at the rim. No peripheral legend appears on the reverse. The design draws on the traditional heraldic imagery of the Spanish Crown in a symmetrical and decorative arrangement.
