Reverse description Central device features a finely detailed coiled Imperial Chinese dragon in high relief, its scaly body curling sinuously around a flaming pearl at centre, the horned head facing forward with claws outstretched amid stylised clouds. A cluster of five dots (representing fire or cloud elements) appears at the left and right sides of the field flanking the dragon. The legend SUNGAREI arcs across the upper field and 4 MACE is inscribed along the lower arc, both legends in Roman capital letters. The entire design is contained within a beaded border at the rim, consistent with the European-influenced engraving style of Otto Bleh at the Tientsin Mint.
