Reverse description Central field filled with a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in several horizontal registers, stating the denomination, mint place, and Hijri date. The inscription reads '4 Lariat, struck in Malé, Maldives, 1320' in a bold, cursive Arabic script occupying virtually the entire coin face. The Hijri date 1320 appears prominently in the lower register in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed (dentilated) border consistent with the obverse.
