Obverse description Crowned ornate cartouche bearing the quartered arms of Wied-Neuwied, displaying an eagle in the first quarter and vertical barry stripes in the second quarter, with an additional smaller escutcheon at the base. The initials G. W. (Graf zu Wied) appear in the upper field flanking the crown, one letter to each side.
