Obverse description A cardinal's hat with pendant tassels surmounts an oval heraldic shield set within an ornate baroque frame, the whole flanked by the characteristic ecclesiastical insignia of the archbishopric. The shield displays the arms of the issuer in relief. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the central design, identifying the issuing prelate by name and title. The overall composition reflects the high baroque engraving style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
