Obverse lettering LEONARD ARCHIEPI SALZ (variations: SAL, SALC)
Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Rupert of Salzburg, the patron saint of the archbishopric, depicted in pontifical vestments including a mitre and draped cope, holding a crozier in his left hand and a model of a church or salt container in his right. The saint stands within an inner beaded circle against a plain field. A circular Latin legend reading SANCT RVDBERTVS EPIS (with known variations) surrounds the figure between two beaded borders in the Gothic style characteristic of late 15th- to early 16th-century Salzburg coinage.
