| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consists of a large spread imperial double-headed eagle displayed, its two heads flanking a crown above, with wings fully extended and elaborately feathered. On the eagle's breast is superimposed a shield bearing the arms of the Holy Roman Empire. A decorative floral sprig or pomegranate ornament appears below the eagle in the lower field. A beaded inner border encircles the design, and the surrounding legend, reading FRANCISCUS D·G·ROM·IMP·SEMP·AVG·, identifies Holy Roman Emperor Francis I as the suzerain authority. The heraldic engraving style is consistent with mid-eighteenth-century imperial German coinage conventions. |
