正面描述 Central shield bearing the Nuremberg civic arms — a divided field with a diagonal bar — surmounted by the denomination K IIII, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The date is split to either side of the shield, with 17 to the left and 48 to the right. The mintmaster initials C.G.L. appear below the shield. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim, separated from the inner design by a toothed border.

附加信息

Nuremberg's 4 Kreuzer issues of this period were struck under the authority of the city council at a time when the Free Imperial City was navigating increasingly difficult financial pressures from the Seven Years' War (1756–1763) and its lead-up. The city maintained its own mint rights jealously — one of the privileges that distinguished imperial cities from territorial subjects — but silver fineness on small denominations like this one was frequently adjusted downward to manage bullion costs.

KM#310 encompasses over a decade of output, meaning die varieties across the date range are not uncommon and worth examining closely.
