Reverse description Two enthroned saints face one another within an inner beaded circle: at left, St. Rupert seated and holding a salt box, and at right, St. Virgil seated and holding a model of Salzburg Cathedral; both saints grasp croziers and their haloed heads divide the encircling Latin legend. The composition is rendered in the hierarchical style typical of late sixteenth-century ecclesiastical coinage from the Salzburg mint.
