Reverse description Saint Rupert (Sanctus Hrodbert), patron saint and first Bishop of Salzburg, is depicted enthroned and facing the viewer in full episcopal vestments, wearing a mitre and nimbus, holding a crozier in his left hand and a salt barrel — his traditional attribute — in his right. The figure is rendered in fine relief at the center of a beaded circle, with the date 1673 appearing in the upper field to the left of the saint's head. The encircling Latin legend names the saint and his see, completing the devotional composition on this square klippe flan.
