The legend reads: 'Sultan of the Two Lands and Khan of the Two Seas, Sultan Mahmud Khan, may his victory be glorified.' The inscriptions are rendered in an angular, deeply struck Thuluth-style script and divided by ruled horizontal lines. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner circle and a distinctive reeded or beaded border running along the coin's rim. |
